About Impulse.
Originally meant to be a horrid parody on comic super heroes and villains—and it still is—"Impulse." somehow turned into its own beast with a plot and everything. I'm not quite sure what possessed me to do it, but I did, and here it is, so yay. I started working on a decent comic sometime in 2005, but shortly after I lost interest and only worked on it every so often until 2006, where I just stopped altogether. Once again I have started working on it, redoing the strips entirely.
There is no Plot
The story starts out with a floppy-eared (I did it on purpose, shhhh) arctic hare that is transformed into a somewhat anthropomorphic-looking English-speaking rabbit by a nuclear explosion—one of many standard ways a hero is created. After he realises his powers, he joins society and applies for Canada's Hero programme, thinking no one will ever bother call him in an emergency.
He then learns the position of Super Hero is open, due to the death of the last Super Hero. This position is a high paying job that every Hero wants, so quarrels between allies occur. They assume that this flaunting of power will convince the government to hire them for the job, but they haven't leaned towards any favourites yet.
Super Bunny, what the crap?
I never felt like changing the name, I liked the idea of applying a cutsy name to a sociopath. "Super Bunny" was originally a 30-second doodle in a paintchat. There was something I really liked about the crazy little fanged rabbit, so I kept doodling him whenever I was bored in paintchats. I even made him some "friends," such as Captain Obvious. Their first encounter with one another was CO running over SB with a truck. Then I forgot about them.
Years later I brought them back from the dead and tried to make SB seem more vicious and psychotic. The only way I could think of doing this was making him like every crazy white rabbit I could think of- Max from Sam & Max, the Rabbit of Caerbannog in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, that motherfucking White Rabbit in Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, et cetera.
